• For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due]; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.  Romans 13:6-8

Irresponsibility  -  And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; 13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did [it] ignorantly in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 15 This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief   1Timothy 1:12-15  - Apostle Paul

Rebellion   -  And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness [is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from [being] king. {witchcraft: Heb. divination} 24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.  1 Samuel 15:22-24

Sin -   For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;   Romans 3:23  8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:8-10

SOLUTION

With your heart, receive Jesus as your personal Savior, Lord and Friend.  Fleeing from sin and rebellion towards God, turn back to the Lord for your strength.  Study the Bible.  Find a Spirit-filled Bible teaching Church.  Ask a lot of questions.  Be a friend!  Love God and love others.

OBEY GOD

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; 27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: 28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, . . .   Deuteronomy 11:26-28   Jesus also said in John 14:15, "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Just being "willing" to change and be obedient to God is not enough.  God also expects the actions of obedience as well.   To obey God, we need to know what He expects from us.  It is now time for you not only to read and study the Word, but also for you to obey the Word.  Be "willing" and "obedient."

• If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].  Isaiah 1:19-20

• Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  Galatians 5:19-21

HOW DO YOU CHANGE?  AFTER RECEIVING CHRIST, WALK IN THE SPIRIT IN OBEDIENCE TO GOD'S WORD!

• But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

• [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. {ye...: or, fulfil not}  Galatians 5:16

• For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.  Philippians 2:13

HEART CHECK:   "LOVE NEVER FAILS"

• So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do. 

• "If ye love me, keep my commandments."   John 14:15 - Jesus

STUDY THE WORD OF GOD - THE HOLY BIBLE

• Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  2 Timothy 2:15

• For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.   Hebrews 4:12

GODLY  vs.   WORLDLY SORROW

• For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.  2 Corinthians 7:10

• Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and [your] joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:7-10

IN WHAT SPECIFIC AREAS IN YOUR LIFE IS THE SPIRIT OF GOD ASKING FOR TOTAL & COMPLETE OBEDIENCE?

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.   2 Chronicles 7:14  --  THE LORD
